Are you a college or graduate student who is ready to be part of a team that’s taking a new approach to venture investing? Look no further!
Adventures in Syncopation supports entrepreneurs supercharged by their performing arts experience through community and investment.
Adventures in Syncopation is seeking unpaid interns for Spring and Summer 2024 to work closely with its team, which collectively has decades of experience as startup founders, executives, operators, advisors, and investors. Two types of internships are available: (1) Venture Scouts and (2) Communications Strategists.
As an Adventures in Syncopation intern, you'll have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the venture capital industry and the start-up ecosystem, all while building a network that will serve you both on and off campus.
Responsibilities
Venture Scouts will help identify performer-founders in and beyond their own campus/alumni communities, and evaluate promising performer-founded startups for potential investment by our syndicate. In addition, Venture Scouts will research potential co-investors and collaborators.
Communications Strategists will help us engage and expand our community of entrepreneurs, performers and investors, through social media and other channels. In particular, Communications Strategists will help improve our reach and impact on platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and X, in our blog and emails, and on our website, by creating and posting content, and engaging with current and prospective community members.
Knowledge and Experience
Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills
A professional demeanor and meticulous attention to detail
Experience with Google Workspace (including Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drive)
Familiarity with social media platforms (including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and X)
Ability to self direct work and manage independent deadlines
Venture Scout: Demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship and/or investing
Communications Strategist: Experience with Wix and Canva would be especially helpful
We especially encourage students with a performing arts background (e.g., music, dance, drama), regardless of their major, to apply.
