Dancer-entrepreneur Antuan Byers, who was featured in our 42nd Perfect Pitch profile, combines his passion for dance and community building as he takes on more leadership roles in the arts community:
"Since our last update in 2022, my journey has been filled with lessons, successes, and milestones. I continue to offer my talents as a dancer at the Metropolitan Opera, performing in premieres like Lohengrin, Die Zauberflöte, and El Niño. I'm honored to have been elected Dancers Vice President for the American Guild of Musical Artists, and last year, I was named an Artist Advocate in Residence with New Yorkers for Culture and Arts. Earlier this year, I joined Secretary of Labor Julie Su in Washington, D.C., to discuss Equity in the Arts. All in all, I've remained dedicated to deepening my artistry while staying committed to creating resources and finding innovative avenues to support my community."
